Help us to plant the 6000 trees being planted this year to kick off our woodland creation project, making the moors an even better home for nature.

Bird Ringing & Bird Box Building - Muck In Day

Sunday 15 February, 8am - 10.30pm

Your early start will be rewarded by getting seriously up close and personal with some of Britain's most loved woodland birds, during a bird ringing demonstration.  Then do your bit to give nature a home, by building a bird box.

Under & Over the Eastern Moors - Walk & Wonder

Saturday 21 February, 10am - 1pm

Enjoy the white peak scenery from the dark peak edges of the Eastern Moors, whilst discovering the history under your feet. Find out the geology behind this dramatic landscape, once a tropical lagoon.

Adder Emergence Amble - Walk & Wonder

Join adder expert David Carter, for an amble around the moors looking for adders after they have recently emerged from their winter hibernation.

Mountain Bike Taster Day - Active Outdoors

Sunday 22 March, 10am - 3pm.

Get a taste for mountain biking with the Eastern Moors team, Ride Sheffield and Peak District Cycle Hire.  Bike servicing, advice and tips plus mountain bike skill rides along Curbar Gap.

Suitable for all. 12+ years for skill rides.

Curbar Gap car park. Just turn up or, for led rides booking essential. £10 child. £15 adult.

 

Off Road Easter - Active Outdoors

Friday 3 April, 11am - 3pm

Get off-road this Easter and learn basic orienteering skills, navigate your way around the moors and after your energetic efforts, enjoy a chocolate reward!

Bridleway resurfacing - Muck In Day

Sunday 12 April, 10am - 12.30pm

Feeling energetic? There's a job for everyone form barrowing to raking, when we resurface bridleways on the moors. Help us to improve our paths, then come back another day and try them out on foot, bike or horse!

Fell Running Taster Day - Active Outdoors

Friday 18 April

Join us for a fell running taster day and discover great places to run, get hints and tips on effective running techniques and then get out and have a go with our qualified instructors.  Whatever your age, there's something for everyone with a family friendly session in the morning and an adult session in the afternoon.

10am - 12pm family run. £3 per person.

2pm - 4pm adults and children 12+ years. £5 per person.

Discover Carl Walk & Higger Tor - Walk & Wonder

Saturday 25 April, 10am - 1pm

Join National Trust archaeologist Rachael Hall for a ramble in the Burbage Valley. Explore Carl Walk and Higger Tor and discover the history behind these unusual landscape features.

Bats above Froggatt Edge - Walk with Additives

Saturday 30 May, 7.30pm - 9.30pm

Spend the evening wandering through Froggatt Edge woods, searching the skies for bats.  Use bat detectors to pick up their echo-location and have a go at our batty quiz.

Meadow Bioblitz & Ragwort Pulling - Muck In Day

Join our task force pulling ragwort out of Curbar Meadows and discover why meadows are so important for bees, butterflies and other invertebrates.
